Night of Champions Predictions

Another pay per view is coming up and the card does not look too bad.  Should be a pretty good show minus the divas match.  Anyway here are my predictions.

Womens unification title lumberjill match - Got to say I could really care less who wins or loses or that the titles are even being unified.  Women's wrestling is pretty pointless these days.  But if I had to pick a winner I would have to go with Melina.  She is about the only woman who can work and WWE would be smart to put the title on her.

CM Punk vs Big Show - Could we see a possible Luke Gallows face turn?  Based on recent weeks it could be coming however I don't think it will happen quite yet.  If it does happen I don't see Luke Gallows really doing a whole lot anyway.  I have to give this to CM Punk I think the SES will show unity and Cm Punk with some help will get the victory.  This will of course lead up to the eventual face turn by Mr Gallows maybe next PPV.

Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston - Could potentially be the match of the night.  I think though that at this point Kofi Kingston is not going to get the I-C title.  He has kind of been depushed since he went over to Smackdown and Dolph Ziggler has been a roll.  Dolph Ziggler will retain his title.

The Miz vs Daniel Bryan - Another potential match of the night candidate.  I really like Daniel Bryan and think he would benefit from having a title on him.  The Miz I feel is going on to bigger and better things and has had the US title for long enough.I give this to Daniel Bryan.

Kane vs Undertaker - We have seen this match plenty of times although it has been probably 10 years or so since they last feuded.  Both of these guys now are on their last legs before retiring.  Undertaker is more of an attraction now as injuries seem to have him sidelined a lot.  Kane was lucky to have even had the championship put on him at this point in his career. I think the Undertaker will win and have probably his final run with the title.

Six Pack Challenge - Well Jericho will not win since he has not signed a contract as of yet.  Cena, Orton, Sheamus, and Edge have all been there done that plenty of times which leaves Wade Barrett.  Wade Barrett I don't think is ready for a title as of yet and still needs some more time to develop before WWE pulls the trigger on that one.  I think that this match will play out like this...Randy Orton will win the match but will be physically worn out at the end.  Who comes down to the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank?  Mr awesome himself.  The Miz will walk out with the championship and lead to a feud between him and Orton.

Well there you have it those are my predictions.  Hopefully I can at least get some of them right!  What do you think?  What are your predictions?  Reply back with any responses that you have.  Thanks for reading -Tim

The death of NXT

I have to admit I enjoyed the first 2 seasons of NXT.  It was a great concept in order to put over the younger talent and get them on tv.  I see bright futures for Daniel Bryan, Joe Hennig, Skip Sheffield, Kaval, and Alex Riley.  I think those guys will end up having the most success out of all of the NXT rookies up to this point.  Speaking of which why on earth is the WWE not letting Joe Hennig and Windham Rotundo use their real names?  The fact that WWE acknowledges them as the sons Curt Hennig and Mike Rotundo but yet have the last names of Mcgillicuty and Harris makes absolutely no sense.
I know that NXT was struggling in the ratings and it was on the chopping block for the SYFY channel but putting an all diva edition of NXT was certainly not the answer.  I am not a big fan of womens wrestling especially now when a majority of the divas have zero wrestling talent and are just there as eye candy.  With the exception of Gail Kim, Beth Phoenix, and Melina the rest of the divas have no reason to be in the WWE.  I remember back in the 80's when the women could actually wrestle and were somewhat entertaining.  I think if Fabulous Moolah  were alive today she would be able to run circles around any of the divas and she was almost 90!
Just listening to the fan reaction to last night's edition of NXT shows I am not the only one who is not into this season at all.  The joke segment was horrendous and was a complete waste of time...KGB...slap!  Absolutely horrible!  Last week's episode was not any better who the hell want's to see Michael Cole dance around like an idiot...really WWE?  Is that really what they think the fans want to see?  The less time I can see or hear Michael Cole is best for me.
The other problem with this season is the lackluster pros.  Goldust is way past his heyday, Primo will never make an impact in WWE, and Vickie Guerrero has done nothing that makes her a pro.  She does get quite a fan reaction and her segments were the loudest I heard the crowd but she is definitely not a pro!  I think the WWE was banking on Aloisia the 6'9 amazonian woman to garner a lot of interest for this season until she was pulled for having racy pics online.  I know I was looking forward to seeing how she would do.
I am pretty sure when this season is said and done Jamie will end up being the winner and that will be the end of NXT.  Maybe they will incorporate it into RAW or make it exclusively on WWE.com but we saw how well that worked out for tough enough.  It's really unfortunate because NXT could have been a great way to keep a constant flow of fresh talent in the eyes of the fans.

An Introduction

I must say this is all new to me.  I have always wanted to give my thoughts and views on wrestling, hopefully somebody will like what I have to say and actually read this blog.  I have been a wrestling fan now going on 26 years.  I remember being a young kid, turning on the tv, and seeing Ricky Steamboat get choked out with the ring ropes by the Magnificent Muraco, ever since I was hooked.  Little did I know then that wrestling would turn out to be such an obsession.  I remember seeing my very first live event, an AWA show back in April of 1984.  That night further got my hooked as I saw such greats as Jesse Ventura, Baron Von Raschke, Mr Saito, and my favorite at the time Mad Dog Vachon.  It wasn't the fact that he was a great wrestler...he was after all well past his prime but it was his whole character that I liked.
I think that is still the thing that draws me today is the larger than life over the top characters that are so entertaining to me.  Of course back then was the era of hulkamania and of course I was a huge Hulk Hogan fan. Who wasn't a Hogan fan back then?  I can't believe how much wrestling has changed since then.  Although sometimes I still wish for those old school days again I still enjoy today's product as well for the most part.  I hope to update this blog regularly with my thoughts on weekly tv and pay per views, current news, as well as random thoughts and rants.  Thanks for reading!!
